Abitibi’s Recycling Division
recently held a two-month accumulated paper collection contest
called “The Great American Paper Chase.” Participants were
placed into 4 categories: Public Schools, Private Schools,
Places of Worship, and All Others. Each category had a 1st,
2nd, and 3rd place winner.
All winners received a display
check for their office and actual checks in the amounts of $500,
$300, and $200, respectively. Many winners have planned a
special presentation ceremony to celebrate their recycling
efforts.
Six of the twelve winners are from
Harford County. Abitibi Recycling and the Harford County’s
Recycling Program Manager, Bob Ernst, sponsored an awards event
at the Liriodedron Mansion in Bel Air, MD on Thursday, June 1st
from 11am-1pm. They recognized the overall recycling
achievements of the first place winners in the public, private
school, and place of worship categories.
