November 15 will be here
before we know it, marking yet another America Recycles
Day. Posters asking “Do You Believe in Reincarnation?”
and touting “It’s Always Better the Second Time Around”
are being distributed to county contacts, as well as
recycled pencils that read “I Used To Be a Newspaper.”
Encourage everyone you know to make his or her pledge to
recycle at
www.americarecyclesday.org. The Adult Grand Prize is
a Ford Escape Hybrid and the Youth Grand Prizes are five
recycled aluminum Trek bicycles.
More than 200,000 pledges
were entered in the drawing last year. Last year’s ARD
Grand Prize Hybrid Winner was Nancy Mawra, from Pawleys
Island, South Carolina. She was encouraged to complete
the pledge card by her eight-year-old triplets. ARD also
awarded five Trek bicycles made with recycled aluminum
frames to youth who completed
pledge cards: Ally Abbott of Fort Mill, South Carolina; Jenelle
Kaminski of Blasdell, New York; Zachary Jahn of Pleasant Ridge,
Michigan; Bennie Hyatt of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Joe Gaffney of
Meridian, Idaho.
